My New Sketchbook
I found about a half yard of this material in the scrap bin at JoAnn for around $3 and decided to turn it into a sketchbook. The back side of the material was white so I painted it with brown ink and now it looks very leathery. When closed it's about 6" x 8" and is filled with 90 lb watercolor paper.

WOW!!! you're right -- it does look like leather! very impressive journal, too. i just shelled out some big bucks (for me, anyway) this last spring to have some "custom" journals done for me -- my choice of stonehenge papers w/ leather covers. i knew i was in love w/ them when i got them!

I also thought they were leather. I want to make one (several) and use them. You do so many varied things...I am overwhelmed.
