Good News and Bad News

I actually figured this out last year but finally got around to sketching it after a deer desecrated my garden again this year. I had no idea the deer were eating my tomato plants. I thought I was failing as a gardener and blamed it on the heat down here in the south. Oh well. I guess it's another year of having to buy tasteless tomatoes from the store. At least I can still grow my own herbs. Not all is lost.

In Oregon you need an 8-foot fence around your garden to keep the deer out. And, yes, deer don't like herbs but they love tomatoes and roses.

That's funny! I'm surprised an 8 ft fence kept them out- thought they could still jump that! We only needed a 4 ft fence and a big dog to keep them away in IL!
